A North Carolina non-profit organization creating an incubator model for neighborhood winter food production, and meaningful green jobs.

 
 
Winter Green collaborates with other organizations by hiring apprentices from Asheville Green Opportunities, providing expertise and assistance to The Pisgah View Peace Garden and affiliating with schools. We have completed our Pilot Project growing in a hoophouse at Community High School in Swannanoa.
Our vision for local food is to build hoophouses (small unheated greenhouses)  in Asheville communities,
train people to grow winter vegetables in them and educate about nutritious food and health.
